We have tried to include as much information as possible within our menu range to give you a clear understanding of what is included within the price.   However, you may have other questions that come up from time to time.  We have provided this section to answer some of the frequently asked questions.  If you do not find the answers here, we are more than willing to discuss further details by telephone, or email, or you may like to drop into our Canning Vale office and talk face to face.

Why should we use Grinners?


Choosing the right caterer is a very important decision, and will determine the final outcome of your function. Selecting a caterer on price alone is not necessarily the wisest move and invariably ends up in despair.   At Grinners we have built our reputation on providing quality food and service, prepared in Health Department approved premises. For your protection, our staff is fully covered by Worker’s Compensation and Public Liability insurances.

Unlike many of our competitors, Grinners Catering are Gold Licensed Caterers Licence. No.26, we are members of Restaurant & Caterers Association of WA, and we adhere to the latest stringent food safety guidelines, as laid down in our own National Food Safety Management System.

Will there be enough food?

We guarantee to provide ample food to satisfy the heartiest of appetites.   This is based on the number of guests indicated to us when the final confirmations are given, prior to the function date.

What happens to leftover food?

Our staff is instructed to leave all leftover food.   Once you confirm your booking with Grinners Catering we will then provide you with further information concerning left over food and information concerning the 'Safe Storage of Leftover Food'.

What are your charges for children?

All our prices are based on adult eaters, for example, if you have 40 adults and 20 children, the price would be that applicable to 40 and the children, aged 4 to 12, would be half of the adult main meal price.   All other courses are charged at adult prices.  A price will be determined for those under 4, depending on numbers and courses.

Are there any hidden costs?

All our catering packages are totally inclusive of all costs including staff, crockery, cutlery and everything needed to provide a professional service to you. The final cost of your function will be confirmed with you prior to the event and there will be no surprises for you to contend with on the day of the function.

Do we get staff to come and serve?

The majority of Grinners menu packages are inclusive of trained and uniformed staff who arrive on time and are smartly dressed in our company uniform.
All staff are trained in safe food handling methods and all hold Responsible Serving Of Alcohol (RSA) accreditation.

Do you use our kitchen?

We are totally self sufficient. All food is prepared under strict supervision in our commercial kitchen and brought to you secured in transport containers, which maintain a constant temperature, and served to you using our own commercial equipment. All washing up is returned and done in commercial dishwashers at our base to ensure the appropriate hygiene levels are maintained.

What do we do about drinks?

Grinners Catering Perth are fully licensed and hold a WA Special Facilities Caterers Licence No. 6280109216, as required under the Liquor Licensing Act 1988.
We have available a full range of Beverage Packages from Soft Drinks right through to a selection of Beer, Wines (Red, White and Sparkling) all served by trained and accredited staff in compliance with the Responsible Serving of Alcohol legislation. Do you charge for travel?

Our published menu prices apply to the Perth Metropolitan area which is the area located within a 40km radius from the Perth GPO.   For functions between 40 and 50km from the GPO, we would add $1.00 per person to all menus, with a minimum charge of $50.00.

What form of payment do you accept?

 Our policy is to receive payment in full prior to or on the day of the function, unless other arrangements have been made.
Our preference is not to accept personal cheques, however we accept Cash, Bank Cheque, Visa, Mastercard, America Express and Electronic Funds Transfer.  Please note that credit card payments will incur a 3% administrative levy.
Bartercard is also accepted with prior approval, when making your enquiry.We are able to provide you with an advance copy of your invoice once final details have been given.

Do you have a pre-payment plan?

Yes, in many instances where functions are booked well in advance, as in the case of weddings, we have available a provision to allow you to make progress payments leading up to the date of the function.

We would not normally trust any one to build our houses, fix our plumbing, provide medical advice, teach our children, service our cars or provide most products or services without careful consideration.
